Lotus

Being a flower that blooms with the sun, the lotus is a solar symbol. Untouched by the mud that surrounds it, the pure beauty of a lotus symbolizes knowledge and holds a benign spiritual promise.

Marigold

Every petal of this flower has a seed that can give rise to a new plant. Even its colours – yellow and red – symbolize fertility. Marigolds are often used as offerings and decoration at festivals, weddings and other ceremonies of fertility.

Hibiscus

Since its shape resembles the vulva, this flower symbolizes the Cosmic feminine principle and her life-giving powers.

Sugarcane

This plant regenerates itself and is therefore a symbol of fertility. Kama, the god of love, is supposed to shoot arrows of love from a bow made of sugarcane.

The Banana Plant

The Banana plant is also a symbol of fertility and sustainence because it regenerates itself and does not need to be cultivated. Additionally, all parts of this plant have great economic value.

Paan

Typically, a newly married wife welcomes her husband into the bedchamber with a paan because of its breath-freshening and relaxant properties. The leaf can be folded in various ways to relay different messages.

The leaf represents the female principle and the areca nut inside, the male.
